Why go Digital and what does it all mean?
You can't put all your CDs in your pocket, but you can fit 1000’s of your songs on an MP3 player. Plug it into your car stereo, HiFi system, powered speakers or just put the headphones on. This is what Digital Music is all about!
How does The RipFactory makes this possible?
The RipFactory turns your entire CD collection into your own personal Digital Music Library. We return your Digital Music Library on your choice of drive, either an external hard drive, NAS drive and/or DVD.
Why use The RipFactory for your media conversion?
It's a simple equation really – we are here to ensure you can receive the maximum enjoyment that your Digital Music Player can bring to your lifestyle – whether it is a portable music player like the Apple iPod or a Multi-Room Digital Music System like SONOS. We have the solution to suit.
With The Ripfactory’s audio conversion service, you benefit from our experience in digital audio encoding without the hassle.
What is the Metadata?
The MetaData is information about a song, album and artist. The MetaData is contained within an audio file and has become the key to the future of digital music.
Metadata has been traditionally used as a means to navigate a music collection by album, artist, composer or genre.
As the digital music phenomenon spreads, metadata is
becoming increasingly important. It adds a whole new dimension to your music experience by means of
visual information such as artist, title, genre, album artwork and discography's. Metadata can be
harnessed as a powerful tool to help you build playlists, and build additional
profile information for such areas as related artists and alternate titles.
An issue with metadata historically has been its lack of consistency. For example composers
such as Bach presented as 'Johann Sebastian Bach', 'J.S Bach' and 'Bach'. Box
sets can be numbered non-sequentially, artists can be catalogued incorrectly and
genres can be highly inaccurate.
The RipFactory MetaData engine ensures:
- Consistent disc numbering - Disk 1, Disk 2, or CD 1, CD 2.
- Accurate classical artist names.
- Consistent capitalisation - your Digital Music Library will have correct capitalisation throughout.
- No CD naming duplication - Greatest Hits, Best Of will be named and catalogued under the appropriate artist.
Thinking about ripping your music collection?
Don't waste your time, we are the experts, so use us to 'rip'. At approx 10 minutes per CD (6 CD’s an hour), it is a
enormous job for you to undertake, not forgetting to ensure the MetaData is correct as well.
Using the services of The RipFactory, this entire conversion takes you
less than fifteen minutes. Save yourself the hassle and get it right
the first time. Let us 'rip' for you.
