Why use The RipFactory?

Be Responsible!

We support the intellectual property rights of recording artists and understand the importance of copyright protection. We are opposed to illegal distribution of counterfeit CDs, illegal music downloading or the sharing of copyright materials in a digital format.

We expect you to take responsibility for the ownership of your Digital Music Library.  Do not upload your digital content to file sharing services. It is illegal to give your files to another person or to share them via the network. Please use your digital music library responsibly.

Watermarking

All your files are Watermarked. This protects the encoding company (The RipFactory), the copyright holder (such as the artist or record label), and the end user (you), against the illegal sharing of copyright material. Watermarking provides traceability for each audio file generated by The RipFactory.
This acts as a discouragement to any individual by allowing full ‘track and trace’ facilities of each file if it is shared on illegal peer to peer services.

Because we are the first legal digital ripping service provider in New Zealand!

We have carefully selected our partners, technology, equipment and packages, to produce the highest quality output and best service possible.
All CD's processed are licensed strictly to the CD's owner with The RipFactory paying a licensing fee to PPNZ (Phonographic Performance New Zealand).

Because we’re experts

We know about digital music. We have distributing Digital Audio based players within New Zealand for over 5 years. Our New Zealand reseller's extend from Whangarei to Invercargill, so we have YOU covered.

Because we use the best data sources

Metadata – the text information detail of an album is the key to navigation ease and finding the correct track, album or artist you want played. This data is normally grabbed from the internet from sources of information that are submitted by end users. This can contain incorrect information, misspelling and differing artist names, which can cause navigation issues. Our technology uses licensed, paid for metadata services from industry leaders, All Music (www.allmusic.com) and GD3 (www.getdigitaldata.com). These companies present the information in a consistent and precise manner each and every time. With a combined collection size of over 5 million albums, our data sources provide us accurate, current information for almost every album you send to us for processing.

Because we use the best technology

Leaning on their experience of millions of CD transactions, the largest industry specialist provider ensures our technology is up to date on enhancements, and provides a solution for any questions you may have.

We’ll save you time…

We’re sure you’ve got better things to do than spending hours ripping your own CD’s. In the first place, it takes from 8-10 minutes to convert each CD and countless hours editing tags. At 10 minutes a CD, a 200 CD collection takes at least 30 solid hours to rip. And that's just the beginning...
